Anyways...before you listen to my sister I wouldn't approach Magical Girl Ai (even if it is a joke) Besides isn't Andy like 14?
Kensei throwed out some good ones that I actually started watching at his discretion. And...Fist of the North Star is good but only for the sake of nostalgic interest in "animu" of yester-year. (I'd rather read it anyways ^^; )

You asked for stuff like Darker than BLACK and Death Note right? The problem with the former is that there is way too many things similar to it. Even thought Darker than BLACK was really good. However Death Note and other genres like it are really rare so... If you're looking for another good mystery thriller then you should give "The Daughter of 20 Faces" a try. (i.e. Nijuu Mensou no Musume). And for supernatural elements if you haven't watched stuff like "Gungrave", "Hellsing" or "Hellsing Ultimate", and "Speed Grapher" then you should GET ON IT! And if you want a current supernatural feel anime then watch "07-Ghost." It's currently at about 15 episodes now so you could catch it and finish it before sweeps.

Let's see...Anything that's a thriller normally comes with those titles (either that or blanc/noir) but if you haven't seen Code Geass by now I just don't know what to think (One of the greatest thriller anime of 21st Century) But...if you haven't seen Elfen Lied try that as well. It's a little mature and all...what with the nakedness in the first episode but that's all massed by murder. Yay!...Murder!

Oh, and Pandora Hearts and 07 Ghost, not to mention Lelouch Code Geass. I recommend them too. And it doesn't matter if Andy's 14 (I think)...I'm 13 and I watch Love Hina. (But my actual age is over 300 like Evangeline…oh the evilness!!! Muhahahaha! )

I also suggest…Lucky Star K-ON! Mahou Sensei Negima! Negima?! KHR Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya Evangelion (da old one) Gyo Highschool of the Dead Alive: The Final Evolution Zombie Powder Zombie Loan Ouran High Magical Girl Ai…wait, did that one already Kuroshitsuji Bleach…wait, wha?!

If you’re looking for a horror story, go search up Gyo on OM and read it…it’s already finished, but it’s scary. Really, really scary. I was jumping for a week after I read the lot.

Indeed (what is that like 7 or 8 now :/ ) But yes still...watch THAT at your own risk. Haha...Zombie Loan! I'm sure you will appreciate the bishounen factor greatly. But Pandora Hearts?...To me that's a read only. Considering the animation to the show looks like something that the late 80's in japanimation production chimchar'd out of their butts.
